Compressor Selection:
Home Use compressors are generally divided into 2 categories based on the power they require, 120v (household outlet) or 12v (Automotive Cigarette lighter). These Air Compressors are portable, allowing you to move them to the project.

Inflators are 12v operated and usually include additional tools in a compact portable package. These units are ideal for inflating tires, rafts and sports equipment. This class of Air Compressor is generally called inflators and may be be plug in or automotive cigarette lighter. |
Small Portable Air Compressors are ideal for slightly larger jobs, including powering small tools (brad nailer, stapler, etc.) while being lightweight and portable. Units are powered by 120v and must be used near an outlet. Additional air hose allows a longer range of travel. |

Garage Use Air Compressors are Tank mounted, Portable or Stationary and are useful for running larger tools (impact wrenches, sanders, framing nailers, etc.). These AIr Compressors are installed in a garage or workshop, and require either a dedicated 120v or a 230v circuit. (120 is a standard household outlet, 220v is similar to a Clothes Dryer or Electric Range).

Stationary Home Use Air Compressors are generally mounted on 60 or 80 gallon tanks and will have to be installed. These AIr Compressors are capable of running Larger Air Tools including DA Sanders and Impact wrenches. |
